I've always been fascinated and inspired by the purist recording techniques of the 50's and 60's. A pair of condenser microphones and a 1/4" tape was all that was used to create the most memorable and musically scintilating recordings of the last century. I've been using a customised Stellavox SM8 with 15 and 30ips speeds and a pair of omnidirectional Bruel & Kjaer 4133 microphones since the late 1980's to produce reference recording to aid in my design work and to understand what exactly happens to a "piece of musical emotion" as it travels it's long journey to finally come out of a pair of Loudspeakers.

All my recordings are "unrehearsed first takes", in front of a live audience so the sound is as real as it gets.
